The SAB Staff Office annually makes recommendations to the EPA Administrator regarding membership of the CASAC, the Chartered SAB, and SAB standing committees.

The SAB Staff Office published a Federal Register Notice on June 27, 2017, requesting public nominations of candidate experts to serve on the CASAC, Chartered SAB, and the following SAB standing committees: Chemical Assessment Advisory Committee, Drinking Water Committee, Ecological Processes and Effects Committee, Environmental Economics Advisory Committee, Environmental Engineering Committee, and Radiation Advisory Committee. The notice describes the functions of and expertise needed for the CASAC, Chartered SAB, and the SAB standing committees. Nominations for the Chartered SAB and SAB standing committees can be made on the SAB homepage (http://epa.gov/sab) under "Public Input on Membership."
