Consent Decree Signed

On April 20, 2010, a settlement was approved for cleanup of the Wallace Yard (former rail yard) and Spur Lines near Wallace, Idaho. The settlement was approved in federal court between the Union Pacific Railroad, BNSF Railway, Inc., and the State of Idaho and the United States on behalf of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. It includes an approved work plan and design drawings so that construction can begin this season, and after construction is done, the Wallace Yard will be available for reuse subject to private property transactions and local planning.
