Site Summary

The Oeser Co. Superfund Site is located on 47 acres in a mixed residential and industrial area of Bellingham, Washington. The site includes both the Oeser Property (a 26-acre active wood-treating facility) and the 21-acre Little Squalicum Creek Area (LSCA) to the south of the Oeser Property. The Oeser Property owner has operated the wood-treating facility since 1943.

2016 Five-Year Review is Complete

EPA has completed its second five-year review of the Oeser Superfund cleanup. The purpose of a five-year review is to evaluate the implementation and performance of a remedy in order to determine if the remedy is and will continue to be protective of human health and the environment.
