EPA Administrator to Announce Small Business Award to Nashville, TN based National Recovery Technologies, LLC

(11/12/14) Atlanta - On Wednesday, November 12 at 10:30 a.m., EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy will hold a press call to announce the recipients of the Small Business Innovation Research awards, including Nashville, TN-based National Recovery Technologies, LLC.
The company is receiving the award for developing a technology that allows for the automated identification and sorting of rare earth elements in electronic waste (e-waste) recycling streams. EPA’s award will assist the company in completing development of the e-waste recycling technology. Once completed the technology is expected to lower the cost, increase the efficiency, and provide a stream of material rich in rare earth elements that can be mined for reuse in future applications.
Administrator McCarthy will discuss the importance of supporting small businesses in creating green technology, that increases efficiency and gives businesses a competitive edge, and innovative research that encourages job creation and economic growth, while combating climate change and upholding our moral obligation to leave a healthy planet for our children and future generations.
