Kansas 2014 Section 106 Monitoring Initiative
This agreement provides funding to the State of Kansas to carry out its program to maintain, protect, and improve the water quality of its rivers, lakes, streams, groundwater, and other water bodies. The environmental benefits of this program include preventing degradation of unimpaired water bodies and reducing the number of impaired water bodies in the state. Activities include: maintaining and improving the state's stream monitoring program, improving probabilistic streams, improving consistency and usability of in-house databases, refining assessment methods, developing criteria for reference stream selection and continuing water quality monitoring and assessment activities in watersheds and water bodies targeted for Total Maximum Daily Load implementation.
