Project Title & Description
Benthic Biodiversity and Benthic Pollutant Loads in Emergent Marshes of the NJ Meadowlands
The recipient will sample sediment dwelling organisms in the New Jersey Meadowlands to examine abundance and diversity and to determine response to water and habitat quality in the Meadowlands District. The recipient will measure contaminant loads of these organisms and measure contaminant levels in sediments where the organisms were sampled. The study will compliment historical baseline reporting on sediment contamination and animal diversity providing new and updated information essential for management and restoration decisions for coastal wetlands in the NJ Meadowlands.
