Project Title & Description
National Tribal Environmental Action for Children's Health
The American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest (ALAUM) will partner with at least 18 tribes in 12 or more states nationwide to implement a proven, sustainable, and culturally-specific approach to environmental asthma trigger interventions in Tribal reservation settings. The ALAUM's approach uses the National Tribal Environmental Action for Childrens Health Project (National TEACH Project) which includes in-person training and distance learning, capacity building, and experiential education to assess and remediate asthma triggers. ALAUM will build the capacity of 270 tribal home visitors, health, housing, and environmental professionals to assess and remediate asthma triggers and significantly improve asthma health outcomes.
