Green Restaurant Initiative
The New York State Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NYSRAEF) will train New York City restaurants to “green” their operations to reduce water and energy consumption (and thereby reduce greenhouse gas emissions), save money and reduce hazardous material releases. NYSRAEF will provide eight training sessions to restaurants on greening techniques such as using water-saving devices, eco-friendly cleaning products, and energy-efficient equipment. NYSRAEF will create an informational workbook, website and telephone hotline and e-mail contact to provide ongoing assistance to restaurants.
