Lead Awareness and Education Project (LEAP)
This action provides $80,445 in federal funds to implement the Lead Education Awareness Project (LEAP). The primary purpose of the LEAP is to reduce the incidence of childhood lead poisoning by raising public awareness through educational outreach in low income communities in Florida that have high concentrations of co-located pre-1950 housing and children under 6 years old. The recipient will implement 3 major strategies to ensure the successful outcome of this project, including the following: establishing community partnerships, assessing the local resources, and educational outreach.
