Project Title & Description
Chesapeake Bay Suspension Feeder Modeling Project
This project will use existing data sets and existing models to make predictions about how feeding and changing population sizes of benthos and zooplankton may influence the Chesapeake Bay food web. The zooplankton and benthic suspension feeder components will help provide improved estimates of mesozooplankton, microzooplankton, and oyster impacts on phytoplankton and upper trophic level organisms in the Chesapeake Bay. This will provide understanding of the role of these organisms in the management of living resources and water quality.
