Project Title & Description
Special Appropriation - Shoreline and Habitat Restoration
This grant will implement priority habitat restoration activities within threatened natural habitat along the California Coastal Trail Corridor, which is located in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, on the shores of the San Francisco Bay and the adjacent Pacific Ocean. Visitor misuse of the trail system has lead to adverse impacts to plant life, increased erosion, and degradation of the sensitive coastal watershed and shoreline habitat. The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy will use these grant funds to link trail management with resource conservation goals; prioritize resource enhancement and develop management prescriptions for high priority sites; effectively engage community stakeholders in resource management activities; and improve visitor circulation.
