Project Title & Description
Environmental Justice Program - Viviendo Verde Ya! (Live Green Now!)
The Marin Community Clinic (MCC) will utilize the Environmental Justice grant to empower a grassroots organization of Promotores Verdes, who will train other environmental leaders to teach community members techniques to reduce the use of pesticides in their homes. MCC will also work with the Promotores and the Region 9 Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit to develop a scientifically accurate environmental teaching toolkit that provides information on reducing indoor air pollution for the Latino population. The Promotores will engage with key community stakeholders, including nurses, school principals, and local park groundskeepers to guide them toward decision-making that reduces the environmental toxins in their daily activities.
This grant provides full federal funding in the amount of $25,000.00.
This agreement extends the budget and project period end dates from June 30, 2011 to October 31, 2011.
