Project Title & Description
Quantifyng Impact-Invasive Tunicates Coastal H2O
The primary objective of the project is to quantify the ecological impact of invasive tunicates on shallow embayments in southern New England. The secondary objectives of the project are a) use of the carbon flow model to predict the potential change in environmental impacts as related to warming climate change, b) underwater methodology for tunicate assessment that can be used by others, and c) application to other shallow water, coastal ecosystems elsewhere. The results can be used to project how global climate change may alter the impact of invasive tunicates on the existing food webs.
