Environmental Education - The Newport Bay Eelgrass
This assistance agreement provides federal funding in the amount of $15,000 to teach approximately 200 6-12th grade students and teachers about the importance of preserving Orange County's marine habitats and watersheds, and the importance of eelgrass habitat as an ecological resource in estuaries worldwide. Students will learn through a combination of hands-on environmental science learning, field trips to restore and germinate eelgrass habitat, and an in-class Eelgrass Lab Project to cultivate eelgrass within students' own classrooms.
Preaward cost have been approved back to 07/01/2010.
