Project Title & Description
Support Citizen's Involvement and Review of Investigation and Cleanup of Pantex Superfund Site
Grant funds will be used by the recipient to hire a technical advisor (TA) who will help the impacted community affected by the NPL site to understand EPA/State and ATSDR technical and health related information related to the site remediation. The information provided by the TA will be shared with the broader community to help all of the community, not just the TAG group, to understand the variety of issues related to the site cleanup. With a better understanding of site-related, technical information, the community can more affectively participate in the clean-up levels and remedies so that the remedies are more protective of the community health and more in line with community reuse needs.
Possible performance measures
Community provides technical comments on site-related documents to assist EPA in:
-identifying and controlling unacceptable human exposures from site contamination
-monitoring and controlling unacceptable migration of contaminated ground water contamination
-identifying a final remedy suitable for stated reuse
