Project Title & Description
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION - San Joaquin Adopt-A-Watershed
This amendment hereby extends the budget and project period end dates from November 30, 2005 to June 15, 2006. All terms and conditions of the previous agreements remain in full force and effect. The Scope of Work remains unchanged. There is no change to the total EPA assistance amount of $5,000.
The primary goal of this grant project is to train 20 kindergarten through high school teachers (in 8-10 school teams) to identify environmental issues that impact the San Joaquin River Delta. The teachers will learn to work with their students to plan and implement service learning projects that address those environmental issues. Facilitating the training will be certified presenters using the existing high quality, nationally recognized Adopt-A-Watershed curriculum. In addition, the grant project will provide teachers the material necessary to implement the curriculum with their students. Over 900 students will be involved with the program. The environmental projects completed by the students will be featured during local Earth Day observations in April, 2003.
