Pollution Prevention in Government & R6 Roundtable Training and Coordination
This effort is two separate projects. Project A: Coordination of Region 6 Roundtable and Cross-training. Project B: Organizational and Personal Pollution Prevention in Government. Project A. Cross-training and capacity building for the Region 6 Pollution Prevention Roundtable. Four hands-on training sessions at regional roundtables, existing conferences or events. Focus on building program capacity and technology transfer, improving measurement effectiveness for member organizations, and identify opportunities for leveraging. Direct participation and coordination with the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable, including ‘scale-up� to the national level of a regional success. Project B. 1. U.S. Army ‘Consumer Conservation� education and Measurement. Conduct two ‘Consumer Conservation� training sessions for residents of Fort Hood Family Housing. Measure the environmental and financial benefits and project benefits if applied post-wide. 2. P2 Education and curricula development for secondary school district administrators, employees and teachers. Working with the Little Rock and North Little Rock, Arkansas ISDs, goal is to reduce environmental impact of students and school systems by influencing the behavior of future consumers. 3. Train-the-trainer for the University of Texas (UT) at Austin Student Environmental Center. Provide support and tools to the UT Environmental Center to conduct a year-long sustainability education program for students, including education for personal behavior change.
