Brownfields Job Training Cooperative Agreement
Project activities will train and place City of Los Angeles residents in local environmental assessment and remediation jobs related to brownfields revitalization. Trainees will receive 254 hours of course work, including Hazardous Waste Site Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification training. Participants will be recruited from Los Angeles' most impoverished neighborhoods, which are adjacent to brownfields sites in need of revitalization. Graduates of the job training program will be placed locally by labor unions, private environmental and construction entities and local governmental departments.
This assistance agreement provides full EPA funding in the amount of $200,000.00.
