Environmental Justice Program - Reducing Chemical Exposure for Nail Salon Workers in CA
The project will develop and pilot a model of effective community engagement by increasing knowledge of healthy green salon concepts and practices, building capacity to adopt best practices for work place health and safety to reduce chemical exposure; and training community members to become leaders to promote and educate the concepts and practices of healthy/green nail salons in Alameda County. The project will achieve the following goals; 1) empower the nail salon community by increasing their knowledge of healthy green nail salon concepts and practices; 2) Reduce their chemical exposure; and 3) train community members to become leaders who promote and educate their peers.
This grant agreement extends the budget and project period end dates to 10/15/15. The federal funding amount of $30,000 remains the same.
