Project Title & Description
Transforming Vacant Lots to Restore our City's Watersheds
Heartland Conservation Alliance proposes to study vacant lots to develop a process to identify properties that can be redeveloped with green infrastructure. They will also explore ways to successfully engage and teach community members in this new process, training them how to use the findings and tools in the future to improve their neighborhoods. This project will offer an opportunity to examine the viability of preserving vacant lots to improve community health, protect natural resources and increase public awareness of critical water quality issues in the Blue River watershed.
