Promoting Mercury Reduction in Lighting Equipment
The objective of this project is to promote the use of environmentally preferable lighting equipment by businesses, government agencies, and institutions in New York and New Jersey. An online searchable database will be created to enable users to identify light bulbs that are relatively energy-efficient, low-toxic, and long lasting. The project will develop a best practices guide to specifying low-mercury and lead-free energy efficient lighting equipment.
