Project Title & Description
Environmental Education Program
Wildlife Conservation Society field scientists have been studying the ecosystem impacts of reintroductions in the Greater Yellowstone area, and utilizing this research, WCS educators have developed an environmental science program for high school students that takes a balanced look at the issue of carnivore reintroductions and the many questions it evokes. WCS will train teachers and museum educators in the Yellowstone region, to effectively utilize this cutting-edge program. Beyond providing teachers with the means to offer students a balanced, scientific view of reintroducing carnivores and other pressing issues in wildlife ecology, the program will give educators in underserved rural areas much-needed training in science teaching.
