New Mainers Lead and Pesticides Prevention Program
The United Somali Women of Maine's "New Mainers Lead and Pesticides Prevention Program" will develop and implement an outreach campaign that will educate the refugee population in the Lewiston/Auburn area of central Maine on lead hazards, the risks of pesticide application, and basic life skills to enable them to keep their homes safe, clean, and healthy. The goals of the project are to reduce lead and pesticide hazards in homes and increase community capacity to ensure the environmental quality and safety of their home environments.
