Chemical and Pesticide Risks Reduction
This action provides funding in the amount of $170,000 to reduce the use of highly toxic pesticides (and their associated risks) for corn, soybean, and rice production in the Mississippi Delta. The project will involve developing educational materials, conducting outreach, and verifying performance of participating farmers. The project will also address pesticide drift issues through a recognition program for aerial applicators to encourage adoption of recommended best management practices.
