Project Title & Description
2010 DEPAVE N. Portland School Re-Greening
DEPAVE will perform community green-space redevelopment efforts during 2010 with up to six additional de-paving projects working with a diverse array of partners. Plans use present funding request from the EPA to match recently awarded grant monies to re-green two North Portland schools: James John and Chief Joseph Elementary Schools, with a combined impervious surface area footprint of 7000 square feet. Replacing paved areas in each of the planned sites with playfields and native plants, runoff rates will be reduced from 55% to less than 10% allowing school children to have improved access to community greenspace.
