Project Title & Description
Managing Asthma Triggers III (MATIII)
The National Association of School Nurses (NASN) improves the health and educational success of children and youth by developing and providing leadership to advance the school nursing practice. This project will provide training for school nurses caring for children and youth with asthma and will equip these nurses to affect positive changes in the environments of the schools they occupy. This training will result in environmental outputs and long term health outcomes including improved indoor air quality in schools with a special emphasis on indoor asthma triggers; 1,000's of school nurses trained annually on trigger management and IAQ improvement practices in schools; and improved health outcomes for the children and youth they serve, including fewer emergency and unscheduled doctors visits and fewer days absent from school due to asthma episodes.
