Project Title & Description
International Small Business Education & Voluntary Compliance Program
Border Demonstration of a community-based, voluntary approach to emission reductions in the small business community through both stationary and mobile-source emission reduction strategies. The first level of emission reductions will be achieved through the replacement of high-pollution emitting paint guns currently in use by ornamental iron workers, cabinet makers and small paint & body shops in the El Paso/Juarez area. Project Partners will work with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to host workshops, grant clinics and provide personalized grant writing assistance for United States-based small business owners to facilitate upgrades and/or replacement of on-road vehicles and off-road industrial equipment through the Texas Emission Reduction Plan Small Business Grant Program. Project Partners will educate both El Paso/Juarez business owners on environmental compliance issues.
