Project Title & Description
Wet Prairie Restoration in the Maumee Area of Concern
This project supports the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement, pursuant to Public Law 111-88. Specifically, this project will restore habitat in the Oak Openings of Ohio by removing invasive plants, and implementing prescribed fire management on 601 acres of historic wet prairie. Changes in groundwater and other biological indicators will be monitored to evaluate success. The project will contribute to the delisting of the Maumee Area of Concern.
