Biodegradable Lubricant And Solvent Production From Waste Grease -
The objective of this proposed research is that a desired alcohol molecule can be selectively attached to the fatty acid and the variety of these novel esters is an ideal base for the selected applications such as lubricants, cutting fluids, biosolvents and monomers for polymers as well as plastics. The byproduct of this process, glycerol, will be converted to triacetin which is widely used in the food, pharmaceutical and plastic industries.
