Project Title & Description
Food Quality Protection Act - Growing Sustainable Agriculture
This project will identify field practices from two bodies of knowledge--reduced risk management and conservation techniques--and integrate the elements that overlap into a "agricultural sustainability" framework that specialty growers can use on the ground. The goal of this work is to increase grower understanding of which reduced-risk practices are contained in each of the two approaches and how to practically integrate them into their growing practices. To accomplish this, specialty crop growers as well as members of the environmental and regulatory communities will attend a workshop to develop this framework. This award provides EPA funding in the amount of $35,000 for these activities.
