Community Lead Poisoning Prevention Initiative
Per your application request dated June 12, 2014, this Cooperative Agreement is being awarded funding in the amount of $25,000 in support of the Childhood Lead Action Project's for their Community Lead Poisoning Prevention Initiative. This will provide education, outreach, and collaboration within the communities of East Providence and Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The goals of the project include reducing the incidences of lead poisoning; increasing knowledge of lead and other toxic exposures by utilizing Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) data; increasing lead safety knowledge and expertise of those performing renovation or repair on residences; increasing the understanding of Rhode Island's lead law at the city level; and building the capacity of low-income, minority, and tribal populations to reduce their exposure to toxins. Administrative and Programmatic terms and conditions for this award have been implemented and are in full force and effect.
