Project Title & Description
Superior Watershed Partnership and Land Trust
The Superior Watershed Partnership and Land Trust (SWP) will conduct an innovative use of a geographical information system (GIS) to create a geo-spatial prioritization and planning framework through a Water Quality Cooperative Agreement. The GIS system can be used to facilitate a community-based National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program and document further reductions in the mercury pollutant load in an Area of Concern (AOC) watershed. The main tasks will be to coordinate stakeholders, create a GIS database, propose pretreatment strategies, and implement education strategies.
