Developing Water Quality Monitoring Standards for Kuskokwim River Tribesl
The purpose of this project is to empower and educate the Kuskokwim River Tribes to understand environmental and public health issues and to find ways to address these issues atn the local level. The Kuskokwim River Watershed Council (KRWC) has five goals: 1. Develop and implement a reproducible model, QAPP for acquisition of water science data on the Kuskokwim River (KR); 2. Design, test and emonstrate a technical and reprodicible model in Bethel AK for deployment of fixed water quality monitoring stations on the KR; 3. Develop data-base representation and communication tools for the public distribution of water science data on the KR; 4. Develop water quality training plan that enables standards, techniques, and quality assurance plans (QAP) to be disseminated to EPA Tribal environmental workers and Tribes across the watershed; 5. Develop relationships with State and National Water Quality Networks to build a coalition that can assist with long-term goals of the KRWC Water Science Program.
