Project Title & Description
Collaborative Soutions Environmental Justice
The project will provide multi-media educational materials, trainings and workshop opportunities that will assist citizens in the identification, proper collection, handling, and the propagation of native plant ecotypes. The purpose of this effort will be to help rural and urban Environmental Justice (EJ) Communities along the Gulf Coast to actively assist in the protection and restoration of their environment by increasing the community knowledge about native plants and the benefit and resilience of these plants in our coastal environment. This program will aim to protect local vegetation by empowering the local EJ community with the knowledge and training needed to sustain native plant resources which are critical to the health and sustainability as well as protect the property of these rural coastal communities and mitigate the effects of the oil spill.
