Persistent Organic Pollutants And Endometriosis Risk -
This project will investigate the relationship between endometriosis and exposure to organochlorine compounds and polychlorinated biphenyls among subjects with and without the disease who are members of a large health maintenance organization. Pollutant exposure will be estimated through questionnaire responses and contaminant levels in blood or urine. The effect conferred by differences in the genetic code within genes involved in estrogen metabolism will be explored.
