TSCA SPECIAL PURPOSE ACTIVITIES - Child Lead Poisoning Education Program
This assistance agreement provides full EPA funding in the amount of $100,000. This project would integrate & institutionalize childhood lead (Pb) poisoning education into existing parenting education, social services and medical services in Tucson community for parents of children infant to five years of age. Grantee will work with local collaborators to (1) train local service providers to integrate childhood lead-poisoning education, outreach and followup services to parents and expectant mothers enrolled in local childbirth classes, parent education classes and medical services; and (2) outreach to medical health professionals to test children for lead poisoning at 12 and 24 months of age. The goal is to increase number of children in Tucson (especially low income and minority areas) tested for blood-lead levels.
