Theater Outreach, Education Concerning Lead Contamination at Many Diversified Interests, Inc. Site
Grant funds will be used to contract a technical advisor to help the community affected by site understand information contained in Environmental Protection Agency technical documents related to site cleanup, and to understand the implications of some of the site-related decisions. The information provided by the technical advisor will be shared with the broader community to help the affected community members, not just the recipient group, understand the variety of issues related to site cleanup. With a better understanding of site-related, technical information, the community can more meaningfully participate in the cleanup decision-making process, and can influence the clean-up levels and remedies so they are more protective of community health and more in line with community needs.
Possible Performance Measures: Community provides technical comments on site-related documents to assist Environmental Protection Agency in:
• identifying and controlling unacceptable human exposures from site contamination
• monitoring and controlling migration of contaminated ground water
• identifying a final remedy suitable for stated reuse
