SOURCE REDUCTION ASSISTANCE - LEED for Homes Pilot
Valley Energy Efficiency Corp. (VEEC) will contract with Davis Energy Group (DEG) to provide technical assistance to new home builders in CA and NV to pilot the draft U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Homes (LEED-H) and EPA Energy STAR for Homes with Indoor Air Package (IAP) green building standards for new homes. Under this amendment DEG will build a database to track progress of builders enrolled in the LEED-H, DEG will train field raters and assistance providers, DEG will design and produce web based and paper copy outreach materials, DEG will hold one additional orientation in N. California to recruit home builders to build new homes to these draft standards, DEG will continue to collect data on implementation, including outcome data on pollution reduced, resources conserved and dollars saved.

This FR is an amendment to an existing Co-op Agreement. Under the original workplan, DEG held two orientation meetings with home builders in Southern California and Nevada to recruit home builders to build new homes to these draft standards, collect data on implementation, including outcome data on pollution reduced, resources conserved and dollars saved. The lessons learned are being fed back to USGBC and EPA to improve the draft standards as they go final in 2007.
