Project Title & Description
Validating Best Management Practices for Restoring Nutrient Reduction
The proposed study will be conducted in an agricultural setting of Powder Lick Run sub-watershed in the state of Ohio. Study will address nutrient management problems originated in the watershed. More particularly, the study will compare various BMPs for nitrification and denitrification processes involved in the control of nitrate pollution which forced the City of Columbus to issue drinking water advisories. Field data collections, analyses of data in alternative BMP scenarios for the management of nutrients and meeting Ohios WQS are some of the major features.
