Aquatic Veterbrate Model for Engineered Nanomaterials
The overall objective of this project is to assess the innate immune reaction of an aquatic model, the rainbow trout, to manufactured nanomaterials of varying chemistries at levels that do not induce cellular toxicity. The benefits of this research will be creation of a mechanism for testing other nanomaterials, data made available for use in ecological risk assessments, and information about which nanomaterials may be the safest to industrialize.
