Project Title & Description
Dead Dog Creek Ravine/Stream Restoration Phase 2
This project supports the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement, pursuant to Public Law 113-6. The Lake County Stormwater Management Commission will implement the second and final phase of Dead Dog Creek stream restoration. Dead Dog Creek is a ravine system tributary to coastal wetlands and Lake Michigan. The restoration will implement in-stream, streambank, and riparian buffer water quality and sediment control on 3,950 feet of Dead Dog Creek. This restoration will prevent 67 tons of sediment and 73 pounds of phosphorus from reaching Lake Michigan.
