Project Title & Description
Pesticides Environmental Stewardship Program - Restoring Plant Diversity and Soil Health
The project will demonstrate to dozens of farmers the effectiveness of specific agroecological management and biodiversification strategies (e.g. winter and summer cover crops and native plant hedgerow corridors and adjacent natural habitat) on the improvement of soil quality and the enhancement of functional biodiversity for pest regulation with reduced reliance on pesticides, and thus reduce use and risk in California Vineyard ecosystems. This Assistance Agreement provides full federal funding in the amount of $50,485. Preaward costs have been approved back to 7/1/08.
