Project Title & Description
INDIANA STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH - RADON GRANT
The American Lung Association of Indiana (ALA-I) will partner with the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), local community organizations, and businesses to provide aggressive education, and intervention activities with the purpose of achieving radon risk reduction. Targeting identified high risk population areas by coordinating with ISDH's geological & zip code overlays, the ALA-I will distribute 2,500 Radon public awareness brochures and mitigation resource information. This information will be in various forms, and will be distributed to the local community sites through existing educational literature from EPA, ISDH and ALA-I. The ALA-I will also conduct eight Master Home Environmentalist (MHE) trainings to medical professionals, realtors, builders/contractors, government agencies, environmental professionals, and schools to promote radon testing and mitigation.
