Maricopa County, Arizona, Joint Air Toxics Assessment Project (JATAP)

JATAP recently received additional funding through the EPA Community Toxics Monitoring Competition. Phase 2 of the project began in January 2005 and includes extensive monitoring and EI work throughout the Phoenix urban area, being conducted by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, the Gila River Indian Community, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.

Last year, ADEQ and the Gila River Indian Community DEQ jointly conducted air toxics monitoring and toxics emission inventory work in the South Phoenix area from May 2003 to May 2004.
