Clearwater Spill

On January 6, 2002, at approximately 0800 hours, a petroleum tanker truck accident occurred on Idaho State Highway 12 near milepost 83 (approximately 10 miles northwest of Kooskia, Idaho). Approximately 10,000 gallons of red-dyed diesel spilled onto and along the banks of the Middle Fork of the Clearwater River.
