Idaho Lakeview Mine

In September 2005, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will begin a cleanup at the Idaho Lakeview Mine in Bonner County, Idaho. The inactive silver and zinc mine sits at the headwaters of Chloride Gulch Creek, five miles south of Lakeview. The purpose of the cleanup is to prevent recreational users from coming into contact with contaminated soil and sediments, and to reconstruct the Chloride Gulch Creek channel through the site to restore healthy creek flow.
