Managing Municipal Solid Waste: Economic and Policy Issues
The purpose of this project is to investigate the economics of nontoxic solid-waste landfill disposal. The goal is to understand the positive and normative impacts of landfill regulations. The research will focus on two regulatory directions which seem to be emerging as key constraints on landfill behavior, one concerning pricing behavior in interstate waste markets and the other concerning dynamic issues in landfill operation and closure.
