Arapaho & Roosevelt National Forest
Summary:
Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests (ARNF) include 1.3 million acres of public land in the Rocky Mountains and foothills of north central Colorado. Boundaries extend north to the Wyoming border and south to Mt. Evans. The Arapaho National Forest includes lands on both sides of the Continental Divide, while the Roosevelt National Forest is confined to the eastern side of the Divide. The ARNF is divided into 4 ranger districts. Most management occurs at the district level.

Olympus Dam
Summary:
Olympus Dam is located on the Big Thompson River near Estes Park, Colorado. The dam is a 1,951-foot-long composite structure of a zoned earth embankment with slopes of 3:1 upstream and 2:1 downstream, and a concrete gravity dam with a spillway overflow section. The embankment portion, on the left side, is 1,631 feet in length at crest elevation 7481. The concrete gravity dam and spillway overflow portion is 320 feet long. The crest elevation varies from 7481 feet at the contact with the embankment dam to 7478 feet at the end of the second concrete block of the dam. The structural height of the concrete gravity dam is 70 feet at the contact with the earth embankment.
