Gavins Point National Fish Hatchery
Summary: Gavins Point National Fish Hatchery, one of 70 Federal hatcheries operated nationwide by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, is an unusually complex Hatchery. Every year, employees must spawn, feed, and distribute 12-16 species of fish. Gavins Point is called a "combination hatchery" because the fish raised at this Hatchery can be separated into three broad categories: "Cold Water" -- Trout, Salmon "Cool Water" -- Walleye, Northern Pike, Yellow Perch "Warm Water" -- Catfish, Bass, Bluegill
