We are a grassroots organization organized in 2001 to restore the Upper Wapsipinicon River to a state of cleanliness. We are determined to eliminate siltation through the use of buffer strips. We educate farmers to lessen or restrict the use of pesticides and herbicides near the water. We promote alternative farming methods such as organic farming.

West Delaware Middle School tests water quality, evaluating chemical, physical, and biological parameters, over a 20-mile stretch of river. Our year-long study concludes in late May with a River Day celebration for the community. We conduct an intensive study of water quality during two oneweek summer school experiences.
